What’s IPL?
Facial Limpieza Profunda
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy is a highly targeted, light-based intervention designed to profoundly correct complex pigmentation and vascular irregularities. Utilizing advanced, broad-spectrum light energy, this medical-grade treatment actively seeks out and shatters excess melanin and broken capillaries beneath the skin’s surface without damaging the surrounding epidermal tissue. As the targeted cells absorb the thermal energy, they are systematically dismantled and naturally purged by the body’s biological clearing process. Whether you are seeking to eradicate stubborn sun damage, fade chronic rosacea and facial redness, or clear persistent age spots, this precise photorejuvenation therapy restores a remarkably uniform, brilliantly clear, and structurally luminous complexion.

Q&A
Immediately following the procedure, you can expect mild redness and a sensation similar to a light sunburn, which typically resolves within a few hours. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, targeted hyperpigmentation will temporarily darken, taking on a textured, “coffee ground” appearance. This is the biological sign that the damaged melanin has been successfully drawn to the surface, where it will naturally flake away over the next seven to ten days to reveal a flawlessly even tone.
The sensation is highly tolerable and deeply managed by our clinical professionals. As the broad-spectrum light pulses across the skin, most clients experience a quick, mild “snap”—often compared to a small rubber band against the skin—accompanied by a brief flash of warmth. Advanced integrated cooling systems within the handpiece ensure the surrounding tissue remains comfortable and thoroughly protected throughout the entire session.
While you will notice a visible reduction in redness and sun spots after a single session, profound and lasting clearance is a cumulative process. For optimal structural correction of chronic rosacea or dense hyperpigmentation, we typically recommend a strategic clinical series of three to five treatments, meticulously spaced three to four weeks apart to allow for proper biological healing and pigment shedding.
IPL is a highly effective modality for lighter to medium skin tones (Fitzpatrick types I-III). Because the broad-spectrum light aggressively targets pigment, it is not clinically recommended for deeply melanin-rich skin, as it carries a biological risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or thermal injury. During your consultation, we will rigorously assess your specific Fitzpatrick type to ensure IPL is your safest, most effective pathway to dermal clarity, or pivot to a melanin-safe alternative like targeted chemical resurfacing.
Strict sun avoidance is an absolute clinical requirement for this therapy. Because the IPL device specifically targets pigment, treating actively tanned skin can result in severe thermal burns. You must completely avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for a minimum of four weeks prior to and following your treatment, committing to diligent, medical-grade SPF application to protect your newly vulnerable, deeply corrected skin.
